West Orange HS Football Home of the Warriors

Parents

Clearance, workouts, and communication essentials for Warrior football families.

Parents,

Please encourage your players to regularly check Hudl for updates and communication. As high school athletes, we are working to develop accountability, responsibility, and effective communication skills.

If a player is going to miss a workout, it is the player's responsibility to communicate directly with his position coach, coordinator, and me. We want our athletes to take ownership of their commitments and learn to communicate proactively.

We track attendance for all summer workouts and expect players to be present whenever possible. We understand that summer schedules include family vacations, camps, and other commitments. Players are permitted up to four missed summer workouts. After four absences, they will be assigned OTI's (Opportunities to Improve). This allows us to maintain consistency and hold everyone to the same standard.

We have 22 scheduled summer workouts, and our expectation is that players attend at least 18 of them (approximately 80%).

Clearance

Clearance

Athletes must be cleared through Athletic Clearance in order to participate. Here's how you get cleared.

  1. Directions: Athletic Clearance directions.
  2. A physical within the last 12 months documented on this specific FHSAA EL2 form. Page 4 must be completed in its entirety including the office stamp. Physicals expire 12 months from the date of the exam. Please be sure that all areas are completed, signed, and dated.
  3. ECG on the specific FHSAA ECG screening form.
  4. Go to NFHSLearn.com. Create a login with the student's first and last name. This will be printed on the certificate. The student is required to take the courses so if the certificates are in another name or nickname, they will not be accepted. Complete: Concussion for students, Heat Illness Prevention, Sportsmanship, Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
  5. All completed paperwork must be uploaded to AthleticClearance.com to be reviewed by our athletic trainer to be cleared for play. No paper copies will be accepted. You must select the year 2026-27, West Orange HS as the school, and Football 11-Man as the sport.

Communication

Communication

Communication is essential and there are many ways to stay connected to the program. Here is what you should sign up for:

  1. Newsletter - To subscribe to the newsletter use this newsletter signup link. I know it does not have the current season on the sign-up sheet. Just add 2026 Season and any other options you may be interested in, then submit.
  2. Hudl - this is for PLAYERS ONLY. Please make sure your player is added to West Orange Football Hudl and turns notifications on. Everyone who submitted emails has been invited but many are still pending. They can also join by going to hudl.com/jointeam; enter Team Code: j825hno to submit their details and join the team. Please DO NOT enter a jersey number and DO NOT use OCPS student emails. OCPS blocks all communication from non-OCPS sites.
  3. TeamSnap - this is for players and parents. There is an app as well as a website. Players must be added first and then their parents/guardians will be added underneath the player. Once again, please do not use the student's OCPS email since OCPS blocks all communication from non-OCPS sites.
